Building Resilience in Ethical Decision-making

Building Resilience in Ethical Decision-making In-Person

The purpose of this course is two-fold to (i) promote responsible conduct of research at KAUST; and (ii) enable the KAUST research community to build resilience in ethical decision-making throughout the research ecosystem. This is a very engaging course, which includes concepts such as ethics, research ethics and integrity, ethical lenses, and blind spots. Attendees will participate in activities and case studies as well as robust discussions concerning previous and current work experience. The goal is to get our research community to a point of critical thinking when facing ethical dilemmas.

Objectives and Outcome

The primary aim of this workshop is to enable the KAUST research community to reach ethical maturity in decision-making by first understanding who they are through the Ethical Lenses Inventory.

Learning Outcomes

The outcomes of this workshop will enable the participants to:

  1. Promoting the integrity of KAUST research and the reputation of the University
  2. Ensuring that the research community acquires skills to become ethical members of the scientific community
